WHAT
IS THE ZODIAC? |
 |
|
|
 |
|
At the
time and date of birth, the
planets will be at certain
positions in the Zodiac.
They will also be in certain
houses, form certain
aspects, and the Ascendant
and Midheaven will be
defined also for that
specific time and date and
place of birth.
All this information can be
represented pictorially in a
"Birthchart", or "Horoscope
Wheel", as shown.
Around the edge are the
twelve signs of the Zodiac -
shown by their symbols.
Within the circle are the
planets, also shown by their
symbols and positioned
within the circle at their
respective positions along
the Zodiac. The Houses are
shown by dividing this
circle diametrically,
beginning at the Ascendant
and proceeding around the
wheel every thirty degrees,
as is also shown.
This construction - the Birthchart - is essentially
a "photograph" of the
heavens at a given time and
date, which is why the date
and time of your birth must
be known. It is unique to
that time and date, and also
the location on the surface
of the Earth which is why
the place of birth must also
be known, and therefore
unique to the person for
whom the chart is drawn.
Thus the birthchart contains
all the information the
astrologer needs to perform
his art. We have within it
the planetary positions both
in the Zodiac and in the
houses - from which the
aspects may be computed, the
Ascendant and Midheaven, and
from this the astrologer may
deduce any other
astrological measurements
that he requires.
All of these things are used
by astrologers to determine
the character, and predict
the future of the individual
for whom the horoscope is
cast. The Sun in Aries for
example means something
different as regards a
person’s character than the
Sun in Taurus. And similarly
for the other planets, and
the aspects they form as
well as the houses they
occupy at the time of birth.
The detailed "reading" or
"delineation" as it is
called is quite a complex
process and demands a good
deal of experience. The
horoscope you have here is
very detailed and accurate
and conforms to standard and
tested astrological practice
- which is, as both an art
and a science, many
thousands of years old!

what makes a gemini tick? |
|

|
If
you want to know how a Gemini ticks,
sidle up to the one you're trying to
puzzle out, start chatting, and then
listen very carefully. Above the
twinkling tones of the Twin
twittering on. you may hear a weird
whirring, combined with a couple of
clicks. Yes? Well. congratulations,
you have just heard the Gemini brain
cells in action and they are what
make every Gemini tick.
The more astute Geminis will
actually admit to being aware of
their Mercurial minds working. They
can feel themselves thinking.
Geminis think so quickly that they
leave some of the other signs
standing. Everything they see and
hear will pass through that
brilliant brain box and be stored
away for future reference in the
Geminian filing system.
If you're meeting a Gemini
for the first time, you'll notice
how nervously and quickly he or she
moves. Even if the Twin is sitting
talking to you, his or her eyes will
be taking in everything in the room,
and everything about you. Even the
egg stain on your tie and the
fascinating fact that you're wearing
odd socks.
Geminis have a very low
boredom threshold, and you'll soon
know if you've made them cross it.
Their peepers will be poring all
over the place and rarely popping
back to you. Their fingers will
begin to tap out tunes on the table,
their feet will jiggle up and down,
and they will become fantastically
fidgety. This is a danger sign and
unless you can suddenly turn the
conversation on to a different, more
scintillating subject, to ignite
their interest again, you may as
well give up and go home. Otherwise
you'll be written off as being too
boring to bother with.
All Geminis have an elfin
appearance, and look like potential
pixies. It's rare for them to look
like hobgoblins, because this is a
very attractive sign, both mentally
and physically. The typical Twin
male or female is incredibly pretty
in a boyish way, with alert, shining
eyes and fine features.
Most Geminis have a very fast
way of talking, and may even start
to stammer when excited. That may
sound strange when you consider that
Geminis are so glib and garrulous
and graced with the gift of the gab,
but actually sometimes their minds
move faster than their mouths, and
you get a right old scramble coming
out! Geminis love puns because it
means they can play about with their
favourite toys words.
Every sign has its good and
bad side, and Gemini is no
exception. Positively, Geminis are
incredibly lively, witty people,
extremely articulate and natural
communicators. But the reverse of
that is the Twin who uses
communication in the wrong way, and
tells terrible lies . Some Geminis
like to bend the truth into real
reef-knots.
A lot of Geminis say to me
'Oh, I'm two-faced, because I'm a
Twin', but I think they've got it
wrong. The popular myth is that all
Geminis are raving schizophrenics,
or Jekyll and Hyde characters, being
sweet as sugar one minute and
ravening beasts the next. You have
to look at Gemini's ruling planet,
Mercury, to work this out As it
spins about the solar system, one
side of it is always in darkness,
and the other is always light and
it's the same with Gemini. When we
talk of dark and light in a
personality, we can mean a true
schizophrenic, with two
personalities in one mind, or simply
someone, like a Gemini, who
experiences a tremendous variety of
emotions within one personality.
Geminis can certainly have extremes
of character, and on one level be
alert, bright, chatty and chirpy,
and on another, be so depressed they
can't even find the words to
describe how miserable they are.
Very often. Geminis can be
desperately disappointed with the
world. It can be such a dull place,
full of such dreary people that
Geminis have to invent their own,
brighter world to cheer themselves
up. Geminian memories of events are
always a slightly different version
of what really happened!
If you understand this it'll
help you to appreciate the Geminis
you know better. You should even
feel a bit sorry for them, if you
think about it. People who live in
their heads that much are bound to
be lonely, at least some of the
time. |

gemini as a friend |
|

|
Gemini's make much better
friends than they do lovers. Friendships are less restricting than
love-affairs. Gemini's are likely to have millions of mates mooching
about, culled from all walks of life, and will be just as chummy
with a politician as a painter, an architect as an aardvark expert.
But all those friends, no matter how old or young they are.
must have one thing in common. They must be bright, breezy and
bursting with brilliant brainwaves, because Gemini's will cast aside
the dozy, depressing dullards in the twinkling of an eye. They can
be very sympathetic if a friend is feeling under the weather, or
down in the dumps, but you won't catch them saying 'Oh, you poor
thing' for long. If a Gemini knows people who are naturally
miserable, they'll be way down their Christmas card list if they
don't actually fall off it altogether. Loyalty is not one of their
shining virtues, I'm afraid.
A Gemini's idea of a fun friend is one who rings the doorbell
on a sunny Saturday morning and suggests an expedition to Exeter, to
see if the cathedral has fallen down yet, traipsing off on a trek to
see if there really is a town called Timbuktu, or popping off on a
plane to Paris.
They absolutely adore adventures and like to have a companion
to take along on a trip. The Gemini's idea of adventure can be
anything from capering off to a crochet class together to skipping
off to do something slightly shady, at which point the pal will
become a partner in crime. They love doing things that are rather
risqué, niftily naughty, or absolutely against the law. But unless
they have a severely afflicted natal chart, they aren't out-and-out
law-breakers. Gemini's just love new ventures, like Noddy and Big
Ears.
Gemini's are always going off at new tangents, or on new
levels even if geometry wasn't their best subject at school! One of
the best points about a Gemini is that he or she is very receptive
to new ideas, and will go In any direction a friend suggests. Who
knows where it will lead?
Predictability breeds contempt for a typical Twin. Gemini's
like their friends, as well as their lovers, to keep them mentally
alert, and physically on their toes. Tennis is one of their
favourite games, and if you have a ferocious forehand, and your
Mercurial mate has a vicious volley, you're in clover.
The Gemini ideas of bliss is to browse in a bookshop, new or
second-hand. A pea-feet place for all book loving Gemini's must be
Hay-on-Wye which is bursting with bookshops. The Twin could go there
for a day trip with a chum and end up spending the weekend! There
are so many shops to see.
Gemini's don't like buddies they can boss around, as they
need to respect their pals rather than dominate them, and what they
will most like in a mate is the mind. If they can find someone who
echoes their vitality, versatility and variety, they will have found
a true star-mate. |

gemini IN LOVE |
|

|
GEMINIS WILL even admit it themselves. They're always falling
in love, whether for five minutes or fifty years. But it's not
really their fault: they just adore other people.
Although they might find it a teensy bit difficult to fall in
love with the Hunchback of Notre Dame, their amour doesn't have to
be the double of Romeo or Juliet to get those Geminian hearts
pounding extra ecstatically.
When Geminis are in love they watch their romantic p's and
q's constantly. They are scared of sounding or seeming silly, so
they can appear a mite chilly to their partners. They can even be
icy, leaving their loved ones covered in hoarfrost. But such is
Geminis' dual nature that although they can seem as cool as a
cucumber on the surface, underneath they may be feeling as red-hot
as a radish.
Generally, when a Gemini loves it is in an Airy way, and
quite different from that of a sensual Taurean or a sexy Scorpio,
both of whom make no bones about grabbing what they want. Geminis,
on the other hand. would much rather grab their amour's brain, not
their body.
Possessive partners will turn Geminis off in a trice, and
passionate declarations of love, even if they are what a Twin most
wants to hear, will make him or her panic. You see, Geminis hate to
be tied down in any way. Remember that Gemini is an Air sign, so
Geminis need a lot of space in relationships, or they will
suffocate.
Many Geminis march down the aisle twice, or have two
incredibly important affairs. The first love-affair or marriage will
be important because through it they will discover what not to do
next time. Then, when nuptial number two comes along, they will have
learnt a lot and won't make the same mistakes twice, and may even
allow themselves to be more tender and less rational.
Geminis are renowned for having a butterfly attitude to love,
but that's because, on a superficial level, love is a flirtation to
them. They know many people and will say that they love a lot of
them, but they don't always mean it in a romantic way. Some Geminis
can easily have four or five relationships on the go at the same
time. But each of them will be for a different reason and won't
necessarily all involve sex.
Variety is definitely the spice of life for a Gemini, and the
partner must make sure he or she has plenty to offer the Twin in the
spice rack of life. Geminis need the delicious feeling of never
knowing what's round the corner, if their love-affairs are to
survive.
If you think you've got something to offer a Gemini, invite
your Mercurial mate round to your place. But first, make sure that
you put a complete set of the relativity theories of Einstein, or
the Shorter Oxford English Dictionary, in the loo and leave an album
of your school photographs lying around. The Gemini will notice it,
because those Mercurial peepers miss nothing, whether it's dusty
skirting boards or your new designer socks.
If you're serious about the Gemini you're in love with, you
have got to come up with enough interesting things to keep him or
her occupied for the next forty-seven years, give or take a decade.
Whatever you do, don't put all your cards on the table at once.
because Geminis love to be kept guessing. Keep a few aces up your
sleeve to play when the going gets a mite dicey, and then you'll be
on to a winning streak! |
